More Bad News for Atlanta Housewife Kandi Burruss

Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Kandi Burruss is being accused of refusing to pay one of her employees minimum wage or overtime, though he has been working for her for years — he even planned her wedding. Now, demanding that he gets his due pay, he's suing the reality star for the money he's owed.

Fans may remember the man, identified as Johnnie Winston III, as he appeared on a couple episodes of the show alongside Kandi and her other employees.

According to The Jasmine Brand, Winston III filed a suit against Burruss and her company Kandi Koated Entertainment and also explained that he first began working with Kandi as her manager, event planner and production coordinator back in 2013. He served in all of these roles until he was terminated in February 2016.

He says she failed to pay the required minumum wage approved by the state of Georgia and overtime wages for the time he spent working in the recording studio, planning special events, running errands and even preparing meals for Kandi's events.

His work load also allegedly increased from early 2014 until he was fired. He explained that though he was initially terminated in April 2015, he was rehired a month later, but still wasn't paid adequately.

Winston III expained that he was required to work seven days a week at 10 - 12 hours per day.

He filed a suit for a declaratory judgment stating Kandi violated The Fair Labor Standards Act, and is requiring that she cough up the cash for the entire pay and overtime she owes him, liquidated damages in an additional sum equal to back pay and benefits in addition to his attorney fees and interest.
